Design Introduction
The Japanese word for heart: 「ひだ」
Meaning: The hiragana of "Hida" represents the Hida region of Gifu Prefecture, which is the origin of sarubob (baby monkey).
Japanese text on the back: 「さるぼぼです」
"Sarubobo" is a famous mascot of Hida Takayama. It is usually depicted with a red body (to ward off disasters and illnesses and ensure peace), a black headdress (representing rural life), and a faceless design (to avoid speaking ill of others and to ensure family harmony).
