宮島（正式名「嚴島」）位於廣島縣廿日市市,以海上大鳥居嘅嚴島神社聞名,而島上嘅野生梅花鹿（ニホンジカ）自古以來被視為神之使者，同奈良公園嘅鹿一樣受到保護,唔怕人,經常喺參道、商店街周圍自由活動,甚至會主動走近遊客,係宮島觀光其中一個標誌性畫面。不過同奈良鹿唔同,宮島鹿由於過去曾經有咬紙、搶食遊客物品嘅情況,近年當地政府同民間都加強咗宣傳教育,提醒遊客唔好隨便餵食,以維持人鹿之間嘅安全距離。
