This is "Akashi Octopus." Akashi City, located in Hyogo Prefecture, is famous for its abundant octopus. The Akashi Strait has strong currents, which gives the octopus firm flesh and a rich flavor, earning it the reputation of "Japan's No. 1 Octopus."

The direct translation of "たこ八" is "eight-legged octopus" or "octopus eight".
