Cultural trivia
Kokeshi is a traditional craft of the six prefectures of Tohoku, especially famous in Miyagi and Yamagata.
Each region has its own unique style, and the Miyagi lineage has the following characteristics:

• Large head, slender body, simple lines
• With a smile or a faint expression
• The head is often decorated with red hair ornaments or patterns.
• The color scheme is simple yet warm.

Traditionally, mustard seeds are a craft souvenir from the hot spring town, regarded as a lucky charm for praying for peace and protecting children's health.
